Jammin’ Maple Sour
This cocktail is a little sweet, a little sour, and full of Florida flavor!
Without a doubt, the Whiskey Sour is an all-time iconic cocktail. Equal parts sweet and sour with a classic bourbon kick and a foamy topping, it’s up there with the Old Fashioned for the most popular bourbon cocktail. Along the way, it’s spawned a number of variations that add grapefruit juice, honey, and even red wine to provide a tasty twist. Our newest cocktail, the Jammin’ Maple Sour, imparts plenty of flair and flavor to the classic with the addition of bourbon blackberry jam and our locally-aged Bourbon Barrel Maple Syrup!
Developed by our very own Bourbon Steward, Clark Gilmore, the Jammin’ Maple Sour starts with the classic Florida Straight Bourbon and lemon juice base. A hearty spoonful of bourbon blackberry jam (available in our distillery retail shop) adds notes of dark fruit and vanilla to complement the bourbon, while the maple syrup balances out the tartness of the lemon juice. An expressed mint sprig garnish rounds out this cocktail with a flourish of fresh herbal notes.
This cocktail tastes like summer in a glass any time of year. Learn how to make it below!
