We are proud to announce that both the St. Augustine Distillery Co. and Ice Plant Bar received the 2014 Award for Excellence for the Reuse/Repurpose Sector by the Urban Land Institute of North Florida.
About the Awards for Excellence
The Awards for Excellence was started in 2012 to showcase ULI North Florida’s efforts identifying and promotion the “Best Practices” in all aspects of real estate development and place making. The award recognizes all phases of the development process: planning design, construction, and the economic viability. In addition to the four categories of awards [Private Sector, Public Sector/Open Space/Non-Profits, Downtown, and Reuse/Repurpose], we also honor a visionary leader.
ULI North Florida sent call for nominations to its more than 350 members, as well as to the real estate community in North Florida. The award criterion was based on ULI’s mission to provide leadership and the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The projects also had to have been completed within the last 7 years, be financially sustainable and incorporate ULI’s Building Healthy Places principles. The awards were competitively based and open to real estate developments and programs from throughout North Florida. The ULI District Council includes 34 counties from Flagler to Escambia, including Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Pensacola and Panama City.
